The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspect Services announced the recall of about 16,243 pounds of Cargill Meat Solution’s ground beef products.
The recall is due to the possible contamination with E. coli, however, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions as of Wednesday, May 1st. E. coli is a bacterium that can cause dehydration, bloody diarrhea, and abdominal cramps.
The raw ground beef items were produced on April 26th and 27th. The products subject to recall have the USDA mark of inspection and establishment number “EST. 86P.” The products were shipped to Walmart retail locations nationwide.
