Carol A. Bower, 76, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover.

Born in Dover, Carol was one of three daughters born to the late Carl and Mary Totten. Carol loved being artistic and it was because of this that she was able to showcase her talents as owner and operator Fancy Fingers at New Philadelphia and will be remembered by many for her nail art. Carol was also an avid bowler and had been inducted into the USBC Bowling Hall of Fame and had attended Trinity Episcopal Church at New Philadelphia.

Carol is survived by her former husband and still best friend, Brad Bower of New Philadelphia; her daughters, Amanda Simon of Brooklyn, New York and Melissa (Christopher) Harris of New Philadelphia; her loving niece that she thought of as a daughter, Heidi Hoffman; her five grandchildren, Zach (Amanda) Harris, Kylie Harris, Dirk Thomas, Desiree Thomas and Donna Young; her great grandson, Lorenzo Rainsburg and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Dudley and her two sisters, Sharon Merrell and Betty Hoffman.

In keeping with Carol’s wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
