Carol Lee France, 90, of Dover died Monday, November 4, 2024, at Park Village Asst. Living.

Born August 9, 1934, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Renneker Stoller. Her husband, Robert R. France preceded her in death in October 2014.

A 1952 graduate of Dover High School, Carol began her career with The National Bank of Dover in 1952 and retired from Bank One in 1996 as the Executive Assistant to Dover Bank President Bill High. She played violin with the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra from the time she was 14 in 1948 until 2013 and played in 265 concerts, more than any other orchestra member to date. Highlights of her music vocation included playing with her grandson Sawyer when featured as a guest cellist with the orchestra and meeting Yo Yo Ma on her 80th birthday. Carol also enjoyed supporting her granddaughter Calista with her viola. Carol was a lifelong member of St. John’s UCC. She also volunteered with Mobile Meals. Above all, she was very proud of her family’s many achievements.

A wonderful mother and grandmother, Carol will be deeply missed by her children, Kimberly (Scott) Thomson of Dover, Susan (Kerry) Steiner of Canton, Matthew (Lynne) France of Dublin, and Jon (Martha) France of Cincinnati; brothers David Stoller (Page Armstrong) of San Antonio, Larry (Sue) Stoller of North Royalton, grandchildren Sawyer and Conner Thomson, Brooke Steiner, Micala, Caroline and Christian France, Calista France, step-grandchild Becky Steiner Farmer, and step-greatgrandchild Kenzie Farmer.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Ohio’s Hospice and Park Village North for their wonderful care in her last 7 months.
