Carol Ortt, 81 of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025 at Lafayette Pointe.
Carol was born October 16, 1943, in Coshocton to the late Oliver Woodrow and Blanch Lucille (Smith) Gross. She attended First Baptist Church in Newcomerstown, and enjoyed playing bingo and sitting outside on her swing. She loved spending time with her family, and will be missed by them all.
She is survived by her children Mark (Kelly) Ortt, and Melissa (Eliasha) Bourne; her grandchildren Amanda (Ernest) Wilson, Samantha (DJ) Grewell, Jasmine, Ellie, and Daniel; her great-grandchildren Aubree, Addison, Archer, and Brayden; her siblings Art and Bev. Gross, and Marilyn (Bill Philabaum) Weingarth; and her special friend and neighbor Betty Carruthers.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of fifty-five years Larry G. Ortt, and her son Mike Ortt.
A visitation will be held at the Church of Christ and Christian Union, 560 W State St Newcomerstown, Ohio 43832 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Sonny Easterday officiating. Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband in West Lawn Cemetery.
