Carrie Olive Hall, age 96, of Smyrna died at 4:53 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Emerald Pointe Health & Rehab in Barnesville, Ohio.

She was born November 29, 1927 in New Athens Township and was a daughter of the late Frank J. McKibben and Cora B. Simpson McKibben.

Carrie was a member and organist for the Smyrna United Methodist Church, was an active member in the United Methodist Women. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed her flower garden, was an extremely hard worker and did her best in everything she did. She always put everyone else first and enjoyed spending time with her family.

On May 15, 1947, Carrie McKibben married Leonard Hall with whom she enjoyed over sixty-three years of marriage. Leonard died December 29, 2010.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Elenore) Hall of Smyrna and Richard (Linda) Hall of Cambridge; five grandchildren: Christie (Bryan) McMillen of Freeport, Melanie Hall of Oklahoma, Julie (Craig) Smith of Mineral City, Jennifer (Dan) Abrams of Freeport, and Grant (Hanna Garnek) Hall of Lakewood; eight great-grandchildren: Caden McMillan, Tyler McMillan, Marina McMillen, Scott Nadia, Shawn Nadia, Kayleigh Abrahms, Coulter Abrams, and Joseph Smith; plus several nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sonda Hall; a grandson, Scott; and three sisters: Bertha Boone, Sara Zimmerman, and Verda Myers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 and one hour prior to the service which is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2024 in Koch Funeral Home of Freeport. Pastor Jerry Huntsman will officiate, and burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery following the service.
