Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell is confirming the identity of the suspect arrested in connection with the Dover Speedway gas station robbery Monday night.
39-year-old John A. McNutt, who was listed as homeless, was booked into the jail on holder charges of robbery and attempted murder.
Dover Police said the clerk was hit in the heading during the incident. McNutt allegedly fled the South Wooster Avenue business on foot but was detained a short time later.
Campbell says the case is being referred to the county prosecutor’s office for the formal charges, which could take a couple of days.
