Charles D. Cox, 63, of Lock Seventeen died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon following a traffic crash near his home.

Chuck was born at Twin City Hospital in Dennison to the late Alva and Barbara (Kedigh) Cox. He attended Indian Valley South, and had various jobs in the area, including different brickyards, Glauser Farms, Buckeye Insulation, and at Praxair, and Amko for twenty-five years. Chuck was one to be outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, pulling tractors, riding his motorcycle and trike, and taking care of his horses and donkeys.

Surviving are his two children: Charles (Melanie) Cox of West Lafayette, and Brett (Tara) Cox of Westerville; grandchildren: Halli (fiancé Nick Sowko), Hali, Charlie, and Chandler Wilson, and Kierra, Sarah, Liam, Mary, and Grace Cox, Cayden and Parker Beach and Miles Cox; siblings: Eugene (Linda) Cox of Gnadenhutten, and Deborah (Richard) Rice of Bowerston, and companion Elaine Hawkins, and step siblings: Ned Johnson, Fred Johnson, Ed Johnson, and Ted Johnson .

Along with his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Ashley Cox and stepmother Bessie Cox.

Following Chuck’s wishes he will be cremated and a funeral service and calling hours will be on Thursday April 18 starting at 3:00 PM at Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten, 244 N. Walnut St., 44629. Calling hours will immediately follow the service until 6:00 P.M.
