Charles E. “Chip” Lewis, 60, of Dover passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2023, at Oak Pointe Rehab Center. 

Born in Dover on October 27, 1962, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Elizabeth (Bernhart) Lewis.  Chip was born with Down Syndrome, but lived a very fulfilling life.  

He enjoyed doing needle point, music, and acting.  His favorite singers were Elvis and Patsy Kline.  Chip was in several plays and was excited about being in one play with Corky, who was the star in the TV series, “Life Goes On.”

Chip worked at Starlight Workshop in New Philadelphia for many years.  He enjoyed attending his special Sunday School Class at the First Christian Church in Canton.  He was a member of the Dover Masonic Lodge #59 and was also a Shriner.  

He leaves behind his brother; Jimmy Lewis of Dover, and his sister; Carol (Robert) Davidson of Strasburg; two nieces, Holly and Heather; along with many friends from the workshop.  

Members of the Dover Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10:00 am.   Visitation will take place on Saturday from 9:30-10:00 am.
