Charles Francis Fox, age 75, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Trinity Twin City Hospital in Dennison, O.
Born December 23, 1949, in Dennison, Charles is the son of the late Francis Howard and Doris Irene (Owen) Fox.
In 1968, Charles graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army, having served from 1968 to 1970. Charles was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Valor, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Sharpshooter Badge. Upon returning to Uhrichsville, Charles was employed as an operator at Stone Container. He was a life member of DAV, and he made daily trips to the local stores.
On February 14, 1985, Charles married Janet E. (Burroway) Fox, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his children Roberta “Bobbi” (Sam) Craigo of Zanesville, Kerri (Dale) Johnson of Gnadenhutten, Jeremy Lindon of Tuscarawas and Kiley (Misha) Fox of Byesville; two sisters Vicky (John) Gambs of Uhrichsville and Helen (Dee Dee) Fox of Maine; twelve grandchildren Garet (Meghan) Kuecher, Mitchell (Tabi) Craigo, Matt Craigo, Hunter Specht, Summer (John) Shotwell, Kailee Lindon, Kamree Lindon, Jaren Lindon, Trakker Hodkinson, Kameron Fox, Paisley Fox and Noah Fox; eight great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Harold (Chip) Burroway and Sue (Bryan) McAbier along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his best friend, his dog “Buddy”, who passed away two years ago.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 12 to 3 p.m., at the Tuscarawas VFW Post #7943, 421 N. Main St., Tuscarawas, Ohio 44682. The Tuscarawas VFW will conduct military services at 2 p.m., at their facility.
Charles’ family is thankful he was able to be an organ and tissue donor and give the gift of life to many others.
