Charles L.”Chuck” Troyer, 61, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton following a brief illness.

Chuck was born in Dover on June 2, 1963, to the late Raymond A. and Mae (Hershberger) Troyer.

He worked at Sugarcreek Cartage for 30 years and more recently worked for Yoder Lumber before his health declined that he had to step away from working.

He was a member of Alpine Bible Church in Sugarcreek. He had enjoyed playing tennis and bowling, but he especially enjoyed Sunday game night with the family.

Chuck found great pleasure in being able to do good deeds for other people, no matter how big or small the deed.

He is survived by his siblings, Marvin “Red” (Rena) Troyer of Sugarcreek, Mary Hawthorne of Wooster, Henry “Hank” (Jerri) Troyer of Orrville and Ray (Ceceila) Troyer of Hornando Beach, FL; brother-in-law Avery Yoder of Sugarcreek, 9 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Ada Yoder, brother-in-law Bimp Hawthorne; and 2 nieces Shelly Beachy and Robyn Troyer.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 11AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Pastor Byron Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 10-11 prior to the service.
