Chase A. Lenhoff, age 22, of New Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Born June 18, 2002, he was the son of Jack L. and Nancy M. (Clonch) Wardell of Dover, and the biological son of Crystal G. Roup of Uhrichsville and the late Richard W. Lenhoff.

Chase attended Tuscarawas Valley High School where he participated in football and track and field. He excelled in both sports, playing wide receiver in football, and running the 100- and 200-meter dashes, as well as hurdles, in track – and qualified for the OHSAA state track and field championships. Chase also attended Buckeye Career Center studying Energy Operations. He graduated from Tusky Valley in 2021 and went on to be employed by ProVia in Strasburg. Chase just recently started a new job with Tuscarawas County Construction Supply in Dover.

He loved the outdoors, and especially hunting and fishing. Over time, he honed his skills and became an excellent caller of waterfowl and turkey, bagging many. Chase also had a number of pheasant, bucks and big fish to his credit.

He will always be loved and missed by his parents, Jack, Nancy and Crystal; his fiancée, Hailey Schlegel; his son, Waylon Lenhoff; his grandmothers, Vonda (Steve Wardell) Deetz and Linda Lenhoff; his sisters, Courtney Hawk and Sara Lenhoff; his brother, Remington Page; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and, of course, many friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m., in Authentic Church, 201 Stonecreek Rd. N.W., New Philadelphia. A celebration of Chase’s life is being planned and will be announced.
