Nick McWilliams reporting – Money for home improvements in eligible dwellings will not come from the city of New Philadelphia’s pockets.
The Community Housing Improvement Program is through the Ohio Regional Development Corporation for low and moderate income households.
Mayor Joe Day said recently that the city is sharing their portion with Uhrichsville.
“With ORDC’s help, the city applied for $650,000 from the federal program, which provides funding for housing rehabilitation and emergency home repairs to homes owned and occupied by low and moderate income households.”
The Ohio CHIP program is supported by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Some repairs and rehabilitation projects that eligible homes can use the money for are foundation repairs, roof and HVAC replacement, insulation, lead-based paint reduction, and more.
