Dover’s construction season includes a gas line replacement project that already has orange cones decorating downtown streets.
City Service Director Dave Douglas says Enbridge Gas crews will be working over the next couple of months but will make sure it’s clear for the Canal Dover Festival over Memorial Day weekend.
Separately, Douglas says the city will soon award a nearly 1-million-dollar paving contract.
He says engineering work will take place this summer for a few bigger projects that will start next year. That includes sidewalks along West Third Street west of downtown, the Towpath Trail, and sewer and stormwater work on the city’s north side.
Some of this year’s park projects are already done, including pickleball courts at the city park and paved paths at the riverfront park.
The city also plans to install a splash pad at the city pool.
