Clara Mae Gorby, 86, of Dover, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Born on April 25, 1936, in Bowerston, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Minor and Clara (Bill) Lang.

Clara was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School with the class of 1954. She retired from Zimmer and also worked as a crossing guard for St. Joseph School and Dover Ave Elementary. Clara was a member of the Schoenbrunn Community Moravian Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, and spent a lot of her time rescuing dogs with Kaleidoscope K9’s in Seville, Ohio.

Clara will be greatly missed by her daughter, Toni King and her granddaughter, Kylie Randulic both of Dover. She will be missed by all her dogs who loved her very much. She also leaves behind her sister, Patty Smith of Cadiz; several nephews and a niece and lifelong friends, Norma Jane Dorsey and Carol Ann Marsh of New Phila, her good friends, Joyce Lindsey, Kathy and Roger Dills, Ginger Miller, Barb and Scott Pobuck and family, Michael Headlee and Jane Antonelli, and Christine and Erik Farnsworth and Bill Fitz.

Cremation has been entrusted with the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory of Dover. A memorial service will take place at Schoenbrunn Community Moravian Church, 2200 E. High Ave, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 7 pm with Rev. Ben Lippert officiating. Friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service.
