Gwen Rummell Reporting –

Claymont Elementary School will begin phase two of their dismissal relating to the ongoing work on Trenton Avenue.

Students were sent home with information on the new pick up and drop off path. Superintendent Brian Rentsch says the new route will begin on Tuesday, May 28th.

“Parents will come down First Street and then they will turn onto S. Center Street and then they’ll turn onto Trenton Avenue and turning left then into our parking lot, that is the gravel parking lot, and there they will be able to drop their child off for school. They’ll exit the parking lot and then turn back onto Trenton Avenue and they can go either back through First Street or go into the downtown area.”

Rentsch adds that the bus routes will not change. Students who walk will be released out the back door.

The change is due to the work on the corner of Trenton Avenue and Walnut Street finishing and workers will move down the road.
