A new playground will go up at Claymont Middle School in preparation of grade changes.

The district made the choice to close the Intermediate building, and the reorganization will begin this fall, moving 4th and 5th to the middle school in Uhrichsville.

Superintendent Brian Rentsch says they are planning to put in playground structures.

“It’s geared for ages 5 to 12. Rough estimate right now is around $58,000 for this.”

The front portion of the middle school has two grass areas separated by a sidewalk. One side, near the gymnasium doors, will house a play structure, and the other side will be a swing set.
