The Claymont School board of education is on the hunt for a new superintendent.
Brian Rentsch submitted his retirement letter at Monday’s meeting.
“December 31st will be my last effective day for retirement purposes.”
His career spans over 30 years. Rentsch was first at Frontier Local before being hired to the leadership position at Claymont in August 2019. He says there has been several achievements during his tenure.
“The renovation of the stadium. The addition of the school-based clinic. Worked with Aultman, they secured a grant and we’re trying to provide transportation for our students who have appointments during the day for their wellness checkups.”
Into retirement, Rentsch says he and his wife will vacation and spend time with family.
The Board of Education is tasked with finding a new superintendent, which will go through the Educational Service Center.
