Clyde “Jay” Albright, 80, of Gnadenhutten, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, in his home, following a period of declining health.

Born in Uhrichsville, Jay retired from the Kokosing Construction Company where he worked as an Operating Engineer and had attended Fry’s Valley Moravian Church. He loved fishing and taking trips to Canada. After his retirement, Jay would spend his winters in Florida and could often be found going to auctions.

Surviving is his wife, Susan J. (Myers) Albright, of the residence and with whom he celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in October 2021. Also surviving are his six children, Scot (Bobbie) Kirkpatrick of Port Charlotte, Florida, Sandy Holmes of Tuscarawas, Brad (Claudia) Kirkpatrick of Birmingham, Alabama, Kelly (Ed) Rabes of Dover, Sally (Randy) Wineman of Dover and Carla Albright of Gnadenhutten; 15 grandchildren, Jamie Meek, Shawn (Sharon) Meek, Carrie (Scott) Long, Scot (Randi) Kirkpatrick, Todd (Jen) Holmes, Greg Holmes, Megan (Dirk) Kreinbihl, Brad (Annie) Kirkpatrick, Ron (Michelle) Kirkpatrick, Nick (Allie) Jones, Tyler (Sam) Jones, Jenni Wolfe, Stacey Wolfe, Andrew (Shannon) Albright and Donnie Braun; 30 Great Grandchildren; three Great-Great Grandchildren and a sister Charity Page of North Carolina; 30 Great Grandchildren; three Great-Great Grandchildren and a sister Charity Page of North Carolina.

Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Geraldine Cox; a son-in-law, Larry Holmes, a grandson, a great-grandson, a great-great-granddaughter, a brother, and a brother-in-law.

In keeping with his wishes, Jay is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and the family will be hosting a time to celebrate Jay’s life on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 2 to 5 PM in the Tuscarawas Village Community Center, 212 East Cherry Street, Tuscarawas, Ohio 44682.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Community Hospice, and especially to Jay’s health aide, “Heidi-Ho”, for the loving care and compassion that they provided.
