Cory M. Herron, 42, of Dover has tragically passed away from injuries sustained in an accident on Monday, October 9, 2023. Born on October 31, 1980, Cory’s life was filled with a deep appreciation for nature and a passion for exploration. He will always be remembered as someone who cherished the great outdoors, taking solace in activities like hunting and fishing. Furthermore, Cory had an exceptional fondness for classic cars and eagerly awaited any opportunity to attend car shows.
But perhaps above all else, Cory held an immeasurable adoration for his children. Saylor Starkey of Coshocton, Gracey Herron and Lincoln Herron of Dover will forever carry their father’s legacy within them, serving as a testament to his boundless love.
In addition to his children, Cory is survived by his loving parents Larry Herron of New Philadelphia and Cindy Dean (James) Burgess of Dover. Throughout his life, he shared a close bond with his brothers Travis (Kim) Herron of Dover and Jeremy (Marsha) Herron of Sugarcreek. Cory’s half-sister Sue Herron of New Philadelphia, stepbrothers Derek (Chrissy) Burgess of Zanesville and Joshua Burgess of Dover, as well as his stepsister Tara Burgess of Dover; grandparents, Lenore Herron of New Philadelphia, Dan and Marge Dean of Mineral City, Cory’s step-grandmother Dessie Burgess of Dover will all mourn his loss.
Cory was also preceded in death by two children, Liam and Abel Herron and his grandfather, Billy Eugene Herron.
A celebration of Cory’s life will be held on Saturday, October 21st in the Somerdale-Fairfield Township Fire Station at 6288 Firehouse St., Mineral City, Ohio 44656, where the family will be greeting friends from 10:00 am until noon.
