State troopers say a Coshocton man is dead after a Memorial Day crash at the intersection of state routes 212 and 21 north of Strasburg.
New Philadelphia Post Lt. Bryan Sponaugle says Alex McPeak, of Coshocton, was driving a red Ford Escape westbound on State Route 212 when he failed to yield while turning left onto State Route 21.
His SUV was struck by a northbound Chevy Silverado just before 3 p.m. Monday.
McPeak was pronounced dead at the hospital in Akron. Investigators are also working to determine whether he even stopped at the stop sign before pulling into the pickup’s path.
The driver of the Silverado, a 19-year-old Doylestown woman, was not hurt. A passenger in each vehicle was taken to a Canton hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
