Mary Alice Reporting –

New faces will take seats on the Uhrichsville City Council and also as head administrator.

Three wards were up with opposition and only one current councilman will be back for another term.

Ward 1 Matt Fox had a narrow win over Robert Baker, and Fox says he’s very excited and grateful to continue work for the city for a four-year term.

Fox notes his main goals will be to improve quality of life for all city residents.

“Working on the streets, the paving, improving our parks, our basketball courts, revamping up the downtown area. We need to bring some businesses back into the City of Uhrichsville and clean-up some properties and that’s what I’ve always been about.”

Ward 2, Terry Engstrom the current seat holder will step down in 2024 as Leigh Ann McCray received the majority of votes.

Another new face, in Harold Shamel, will sit in the Ward 3 seat taking over the position for current councilman Michael Huff.

As for the mayor race, Jim Zucal was able to beat Suzanne Bower for that four-year term.
