Dale Fenton of New Philadelphia went home to meet his Lord and Savior on October 6, 2023, at 103 years old. He was born on June 26, 1920, to the late Leo and Jenny Fenton in Newcomerstown, Ohio. He graduated from Bliss Electrical at Tacoma, MD. He was an army veteran who served in WWII in New Guinea.
He married Betty (Cook) in February of 1946 and moved to New Philadelphia where in 1947 he and his brothers, Harold and Leo, started Fenton Brother’s Electric. He and his wife had 3 children, Sandy (Terry) Johnson of Bolivar, Dennis (Rita) Fenton of New Philadelphia and Pam (Randy) Pipes of Canton, OH. He has 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Later in life, he and Betty traveled to New Guinea to visit the places where he had been while in the service. While there, they met Pastor Charles Lapa, his wife and 4 children. They immediately bonded and ended up becoming part of the Fenton family. Dale and Betty celebrated 50 years of marriage before she went home to be with the Lord.
In 1999 he married Faye Gallion. Her 4 children, Brenda Symons, Terry, Phil and Duane Gallion and their families became a very special part of his life. After 23 years of marriage, Faye went to heaven in November of 2022.
Dale was a teacher of the Bible who enjoyed sharing his faith with others. He also enjoyed sharing this WWII stories. His favorite pastime was riding his electric Zinger in his neighborhood. He is survived by his children, grandchildren and his brother, Leo Fenton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty, Faye, Harold, Denny, Rita Fenton and Terry Johnson.
At his request, his body was donated to Cleveland Clinic. It was his wish that there be no memorial service. His main focus in life was to make sure that each member of his family knew the Lord Jesus so that they would all spend eternity together in heaven.
