Darrell Gene Carothers Sr., age 74, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at his residence following a brief illness, on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Darrell was born on April 12, 1951, in New Rumley, Ohio, the son of the late Dale Ira Carothers and Ruth May (Bake) Carothers.
He was employed at Belden Brick as a pug mill operator for many years. Darrell loved old cars, watching his boy’s drag race, yard work, fishing, wood working and spending time with his family.
On April 15, 1992, Darrell married Gilda Lee (Keffer) Carothers, who survives of the home. Also surviving are their children Darrell (Sue) Carothers, Angel (Jim) Trehern, Allen (Heather) Carothers and Hollie Oswald; siblings Pat (Filda) Carothers, Sharon Johnson, Jay (Shawl) Carothers and Sissy (David) Markley; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; his dog Baby and his cat Boo Boo.
Funeral services for Darrell will be held at 5 p.m., on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the New Hope Church, 4195 Pleasant Valley Rd. SE, Dennison, Ohio, with the Pastor Jerri Myers officiating.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m., (two hours prior to services) at the church.
