David Jay Meinke, 86, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in the Danbury at Millersburg on September 20, 2023, following a period of declining health.
Born in Elyria, Ohio on October 11, 1936, he was the son of the late Arthur Frederick and Lillian Margarite (Stevick) Meinke, Sr.
After completing his formal education David married his wife, the former Judith V. Hans on February 8, 1955, in Cleveland. He worked for the former Owens Illinois in Berlin for 25 years.
In addition to his membership at St. Joseph Catholic Church, David was an avid golfer at Willandale Golf Course.
In addition to Judy, David is survived by his children, Tami Wright of Millersburg, Steven (Rosanna) Meinke of Sugarcreek and David Meinke of Walnut Creek; grandchildren, Sean, Corey, Brandon, Cassandra, Mariah and Zachary Meinke; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Hunter, Leo, Nash, Annistyn, and Gabriel Meinke.
He was preceded in passing by his parents and brothers, Arthur Meinke, Jr. and Harold B. Meinke.
No public visitation or services are scheduled.
