David L. Mishler, 94, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at his home following a period of declining health.

Dave was born on January 24, 1930, in Sugarcreek to the late Lloyd and Esther (Miller) Mishler and married Maralou A. Fashbaugh on December 19, 1951.  She died on September 7, 2016.

He worked as a mechanic at Belden Brick for 42 years and is a member of the First United Church of Sugarcreek. He served in the Army during the Korean War.  He and Maralou enjoyed many years as members of Pine Lake. He enjoyed gardening and working in his wood shop, where he enjoyed crafting many items for friends and family.

He is survived by his two sons, Steve (Martha) Mishler of Gahanna and Todd (Shelly) Mishler of Richwood, OH; and his two grandchildren, Emma Mishler and Elijah Mishler.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his two sisters, June and Marilyn.

Services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11 AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Pastor Earl Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home prior to services.

Memorials may be made in Dave’s name to the First United Church of Christ 526 W. Main Street, Sugarcreek, Ohio 44681.
