Dawn Annette Lahm, 87, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home following a period of declining health.

She was born in Sugarcreek on September 25, 1938, to the late Marvin R. and Mildred J. (Mason) Hostetler and married Richard E. “Dick” Lahm on November 18, 1956. He died on April 27, 2019.

Dawn and her husband, Dick, were the owners and operators of Lahm Motor Company in Sugarcreek. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ at Sugarcreek.

She is survived by her children, Michele (Ken) Engstrom of Atwood Lake and Kyle (Ann) Lahm of Sugarcreek; grandchildren, Grant R.(Elizabeth Smarz) Engstrom of Chicago, IL, Collin R (Gina Colosi). Engstrom of Columbus, Taylor E. (Justin) Ashkettle of Steubenville, Winston (Jos Varga) Lahm and Parker Lahm both of Sugarcreek; and sister Sonja Hollinger of Navarre.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 1 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Pastor Earl Rogers and Pastor Steve Cope officiating.  Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 12-1 PM prior to services.
