Dawn M. Bowersock, age 70, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Aultman Hospital, Canton, where she was taken after becoming ill.
Born October 4, 1951, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Grace Brown Burrier. Dawn graduated from Dover High School in 1969 and worked for many years in the advertising department of The Times-Reporter in Dover. She was later employed by Morning View Nursing Home (now Schoenbrunn Healthcare), New Philadelphia.
Dawn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was much-loved in return by her family – they often affectionately referred to her as “The Boss.” She enjoyed going fishing with her grandchildren, following the Cleveland Browns, loved Elvis, and was genuinely fun to be around.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Tammy Cottrel and Gary Davis, both of New Philadelphia, and Dennis (Mary) Bowersock of Uhrichsville; her grandchildren, Gregory, Adam, Benjamin, Dakota, Justice, Chad, Cruz, Kayla, Dustin, and Maria; her fourteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Michael Burrier; her nieces and nephews; and her former husbands, Chester Davis and Dennis L. Bowersock.
Besides her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her brother, Woodrow E. Burrier, and her niece, Tonya Risley Fisher.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, March 13, 2 – 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 14, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home.
