Dennis Michael Canon, known as Mike to his family and many friends, 69, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, after a brief illness. Born September 12, 1953 in Fairmont, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Garland J. and Betty (Hayes) Canon.
A Twin City resident for most of his life, Mike had been a car salesman for several area dealerships throughout his long career. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family whom he dearly loved.
On March 25, 1972, Mike married the former Barbara A. Eichel with whom he was looking forward to celebrating 51 years of marriage next month. Together, they raised their family, Angel (Don) Warnes of Uhrichsville, Misty Canon of Uhrichsville, Kari Renae Canon who preceded him in death, and Michael “Mike” (Maria) Canon of New Philadelphia. He is also survived by their grandchildren, D. J., Harley, Sara, Samantha, Nicholas, and Luke, 7 great-grandchildren, and his beloved canine companion, Maggie.
According to Mike’s wishes, cremation is planned, and his family will celebrate his life privately. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable donation may do so to the charity of their choice.
