It’s Dennison’s turn to light up for the holidays. The village has its official Christmastime kickoff Sunday from 5:30 until 7pm.
Councilwoman Vikki O’Hara says themed activities will take place throughout the downtown, beginning with a tree-lighting ceremony on the square. Afterwards, kids can visit with Santa, get their faces painted, and stop by “Grinch Village” at the corner of grant and third streets.
It’s the fourth year for the event that will also have participation from several area churches. Immaculate Conception will have a live nativity in front of the school, and Park Christian will pass out scarves, mittens, and hats to anyone in need.
In addition, attendees will enjoy free refreshments and trackless train rides. Participants can also cruise around checking out the lights and decorations from the comfort of their vehicles.
There is a designated route to follow, but maps will be provided.
