Dennison community members, especially parents and youth, are invited to a meeting that will go over new laws passed regarding electric transportation devices.
The Village reviewed legislation this year and passed an ordinance to help promote safety for youth riding e-bikes and e-scooters.
Police Chief Todd Beeman says the approved legislation requires those riding on the sidewalk to limit their speed to a walking pace.
“The ordinance will cover anybody under the age of 18, whether it would be e-bike or e-scooter, would be required to wear helmets.”
A meeting with Sgt. Joshua Newman is set for Monday at 6pm in the Dennison Village Hall Railroaders auditorium on the top floor. Newman will go over the rules set within the ordinance and answer any questions.
