In the Village of Dennison the fire department has been awarded a grant and a full-time position is open in the police office.
The Fire Department announced the award of $36,190, which will be used to purchase 14 sets of new turnout gear.
In the Dennison Police Department, they are looking for a qualified individual for a full-time officer position. Pay is $22 per hour and some qualifications include passing a background check and other screening protocols, be 19 years of age upon hire date, be physically able to perform duties, and having an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certificate. Additionally, Village administration is reminding residents that this Thursday is the day for one large pickup on trash day or three extra bags. The large items can include bedframe or washer, and any upholstered items must be wrapped in plastic.
