Nick McWilliams reporting – Governor Mike DeWine has appointed a new judge to the Coshocton County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile and Probate Division.
Jason Given will take over the seat at the start of May to take over for the retiring Judge Van Blanchard. The term will end in November of 2024.
Earning a Juris Doctorate from Capital University, given started as an associate with Leech, Scherbel, Peddicord, becoming a partner in the firm in 2009, and served as an assistant county prosecutor for eight years.
He was elected as a prosecutor for Coshocton County in 2011, and has remained in that role until the appointment by DeWine.
Given also is a member of the Coshocton Rotary Club, serves on the Coshocton Behavioral Health Choices board, and also assists with the Sacred Heart Foundation.
