An opportunity to support a local non-profit will be held Thursday during a dine-on or order to-go fundraiser.

Tuff Bags provides weekend meal bags to youth in their mission to prevent food insecurity.

Director Lisa Walker says Texas Roadhouse, in New Philadelphia, is providing the fundraising opportunity on February 1st, from 3pm to 10pm.

“You can take a flyer screen shot off of our Facebook page and all you have to do is show it and ten-percent of the sales from that night will go to Tuff Bags.”

She adds that community support allows them to continue to provide these meal bags.

“Since the beginning of this school year, our numbers have almost increased by 300 students and with those increases our operational costs increase as well so we really are relying on donations and financial support from the community.”

Currently, the non-profit, serves 1,787 students each week out of six school districts, as well as, STAR Alternative, Quaker Digital Academy, four HARCATUS pre-school learning centers, and a homeschool co-op.
