The Tuscarawas County Dog Pound has had no success in turning to social media to learn the origins of a dog found abandoned in an alley behind south Broadway in New Philadelphia a week ago Sunday.
Facility and adoption specialist Beth Lewis says they security camera video that shows a man tying the beagle-bulldog mix named ‘butterball’ to a fence, and then just walking away.
But she says despite all of the shares on social media, nobody has stepped up who could identify the man or say they had seen the dog before. But those commenting have had various theories.
But Lewis says the man might have known something about the dog’s origins since no owner came forward to report it missing.
Lewis says the pound had since heard from at least one family interested in adopting butterball that was set to meet with him.
