Gwen Rummell Reporting –

Local dog pounds are reminding all dog owners to renew their dog licenses this winter.

State laws require all dogs 3 months of age and older to have a current tag, and tags must be renewed annually by January 31st.

According to a Facebook post by the Harrison County Dog Pound Volunteers, “If your dog gets away from you and is wearing the license, it makes it easier to get your dog back to you.”

Dog licenses in Ohio cost $16 in December and January. After January 31st, the cost rises to $32.
