Dolores Carruthers, 92, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2023, surrounded by her family in Park Village Assisted Living Specialty Care Unit at Dover.
Born in Kenmore, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Verland and Lina (Lowe) Starkey and had retired from the former Marlite at Dover where she worked as an Accounts Receivable Analyst in the Commercial Division.
She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia and a member and past President of the Alpha Phi Sorority-Lambda Chapter. In her spare time, Dolores enjoyed working on word search puzzles. Dolores always looked forward to having visits from her dog Buddy and her son’s 2 pugs. As Dolores became older, she enjoyed collecting stuffed animals. But more than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Debbie (David) Billetter of Fairborn, Ohio; her son, Edward C. (Heather) Carruthers of Dover, Ohio; five grandchildren, Melissa Shrader, Jeremy (Nicole) Billetter, Cameron Carruthers, Kaitlyn Carruthers and Ashton Carruthers; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Shrader, Alicia Shrader, Dakota Chafin, MacKenzie Chafin, Lily Billetter and Jackson Billetter; her sister Anna Marie (Charles) King of Durham, North Carolina and her beloved dog, Buddy.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Carruthers and an infant sister
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 12 to 1 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia where a service celebrating Dolores and her life will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will be beside her husband in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
