Donald Edward Walters, 74, of Bolivar, passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2023, after a period of declining health. He was born in Canton on April 29, 1948, to the late Wilbur Walters and Elizabeth (Kuhn) Walters.
Donald graduated from Perry High School in 1966 and married his high school sweetheart on July 20, 1968. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, then returned to work at the Timken Company until his retirement in 2003. Donald enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol Walters; daughters Jessica (Matthew) Watkins of Massillon and Samantha (Kyle) Quillen of Dover; grandson Cade Quillen; brother Charles (Donna) Walters and sister Betty (Bruce) Murdock, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 6, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar with memorial service to follow officiated by Pastor Bill Eckert. Private burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Port Washington at a later date. Donations in his honor may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
