Donald Leroy Kinsey, 87, of New Philadelphia and a longtime resident of Dennison passed away on December 22, 2023, at Hennis Care Center in Traditions Hospice care following a period of declining health. Born on November 28, 1936, on Frys Valley Road he was a son of the late Dean Stuber and Helen (Ulrich) Kinsey.
Don worked for Invincible Vacuum, Tusco Manufacturing, and Riverfront Antique Mall. He loved all things outdoors, including being an avid gardener and hunting. You could always find him at local flea markets, gun shows and auctions.
His surviving family includes his children, Terri (Jimmy) Long, Lisa (Mark) Yoder, Kristi (Nelson) Kinsey, and Donald “Keith” (Lisa) Kinsey; grandchildren, Erin DePriest, Nathan (Amanda) Kinsey, Nicole (Scott) Kinsey, Kristen Heston, Cody (Rachelle) Braun, Drew Braun, Lauren (Michael) Gross, and Kaylee (Tyler) Sturgis; great-grandchildren, Avery DePriest, Natalie, Diesel, and Alexis Kinsey, Jayden Poole, Hailey Harshey, Camryn, Cain, Braylen, and Grayson Braun, Guinevere and Morgan Gross and Benson and Lucas Sturgis; sister-in-law, Ruby Kinsey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joni Kinsey; son, Randy Kinsey; grandson, Alex Long; siblings, John, Fred, Loren, and Walter Kinsey, Mary Swineheart, and Betty Smith; and longtime companion, Kathy Trammell.
Services for Don, officiated by Pastor Tom Hendershot, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 27 at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be held two hours prior from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A private burial will take place in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Traditions Health Hospice.
