Donald W. Braun II, 66, of Newcomerstown died at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital following an accident while cutting firewood on Sunday morning, August 7, 2022.
He was born at Twin City Hospital in Dennison to the late Donald W. and Barbara J. (Urban) Braun on October 15, 1955. He graduated from Indian Valley South in 1974 and then became a heavy equipment operator for Valley Mining where he worked for thirty years before moving to Oxford Mining where he spent ten years before retiring in 2017. During retirement, Don enjoyed life, spending time hunting, fishing, gardening, and enjoying time with his family.
Surviving is three sons: Donald W. Braun III, Zachary E. (companion Kenzie Herron) Braun, and Dustin L. (Brittany) Braun; twelve grandchildren: Donald W. III, Jordyn M., Isabelle K., Lucas B., Aidan G., Arian L., Zoey E., Jocelyn M., Bronko J., Boston E., Barrett L., and Brinson D.; three siblings: Susan Kay (Lloyd) Crowell of New Philadelphia, Beth (Paul) Russell of Newcomerstown, and Bryan (Nichell) Braun of Gnadenhutten; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by an infant son Bucky.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten, 244 N. Walnut Street, Gnadenhutten Ohio 44629. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 12:00 P.M. at the Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery.
