Donna Delores Carpenter, 78, a resident of Uhrichsville, Ohio for much of her life, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at The Inn at Northwood Village in Dover, Ohio, after a period of declining health. Born June 2, 1946 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Veda L. (Johnson) Langdon.
Donna was the widow of Tom Carpenter to whom she was married on October 10, 1964. They spent 52 years of loving marriage together until his passing on December 11, 2016. They are survived by their daughter, Tina (Barrat) Carpenter-Ramnarine; son, Randy (Andrea) Carpenter; daughter-in-law, Marianne Carpenter; 7 grandchildren, Cody, Cruz, Chloe, Hillary, Jacob, McKade, Tanner, and Abby; and 2 great-grandchildren, C.J. and Aashvi. Her siblings, Bill (Bev) Langdon, Bonnie (Bill) Blackwell, Joy (Dan) Armstrong, Melody Kerns, Debbie (John) VanFossen, and Holly (Dave) Dazey; sisters-in-law, Linda Carpenter and Marvella Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews complete her family. In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Carpenter; a brother, Bob Langdon; and 2 sisters, Betty Langdon and Linda Thomas.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Donna also worked as a nursing assistant at Park Village Health Care Center and for Ember Complete Care. She treasured the time that she spent with her family, especially when they would go camping together. Family and friends will always smile as they remember that, no matter where they were going, Donna could never pass a garage sale sign. She had been a longtime member of Dennison Foursquare Church.
A 2:00 p.m. funeral will be held on Sunday, September 1, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten, Ohio. Donna’s family will receive callers from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
