Donna Jean Linard, age 89, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.
Born in New Philadelphia in the family home on August 13, 1935, Donna was one of 10 children born to the late George H. and Anna Marie McNutt Martin.
Donna attended New Philadelphia High School and married Carl Linard on February 5, 1955. Together the couple operated Gene’s CB Shop and preceded Donna in death on March 24, 1984.
Donna enjoyed living a simple life, making her own meals and bread, talking on the phone with friends and family, and socializing with friends at the New Philadelphia VFW.
She is survived by three siblings, Doris (Jim) Haas of Dover, George (Toni) Martin of Navarre, and Jimmy (Christy) Martin of New Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Judy Martin of New Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Martin, Edward Martin, Dwight Martin, Gerald Martin, Ruth Martin, and Charlene Zurcher.
The family will greet guests on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 1-2 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Leanna Roe will lead a celebration of Donna’s life beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
