Donna L. Finnicum, 93, of New Philadelphia, OH, formerly of Gnadenhutten, OH, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Riverside Manor in Newcomerstown. Born June 16, 1929, in Dennison, OH, she was the daughter of the late Kermit Tracy and Ada Ellen (Groves) Klaserner.
Donna was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1947. She was a member of the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church. On September 9, 1948, Donna married Donald A. Finnicum. She was a homemaker and devoted mother. Together they raised four sons. Surviving is sons, Don (Ardith, deceased) Finnicum of Navarre, Bruce Finnicum of New Philadelphia, Jon (Julie) Finnicum of New Philadelphia, and Bill (Minnie) Finnicum of Hartville. The family is completed of eight grandchildren, Bryan, Mark, Sean, Derek, Courtney, Stephan and Kristen Finnicum, and Danielle Brooks; and twelve great-grandchildren, Connor, Riley, Regan, Mason, Micah, Reece, Dylan, Logan, Mylee, and Gavyn Finnicum, Aleah Wozniak, and Harper Brooks. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a sister, Janet Otto of Florida.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Finnicum, and brother, William Klaserner.
Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and – early on – following her children and grandchildren through their athletic endeavors.
Services for Donna, officiated by Pastor Tom Klaserner, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Gnadenhutten Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Those wishing to honor Donna’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County and Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church.
