Donna Raye Hensley, 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Country Club Retirement Center in Dover, following a period of declining health. Born July 27, 1940 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Helen (Nickison) Maust.
On September 27, 1959, Donna married Jacky Lee Hensley with whom she enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage until his passing on February 13, 2019. They are survived by their daughter, Laura (Charles) Bernard; son, Carl (Melissa) Hensley; grandchildren, Harmony Bernard, Jamie Shuman, Tony Bernard, Ashley Wallick, and Carl Hensley II; and 8 great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her siblings, Sandy Maust and Ronald (Gerry) Maust, and several nieces and nephews.
A resident of Tuscarawas for most of her life, many will remember her from Jack’s Produce in Tuscarawas that she owned and operated with her husband. She was a longtime, active member of the Uhrichsville Women of the Moose, having held many offices over the years. She loved reading and took great joy in crocheting beautiful blankets for all of her family.
Pastor Kory Rowland will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Wednesday, September 13, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where her family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. She will be interred beside her beloved husband at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
