The Tuscarawas County Health Department says it’s offering last-minute opportunities for back-to-school vaccines.

Director of health promotion and community relations Jennifer Demuth says parents can call the health department in Dover to schedule drive-up appointments for this coming Monday and Tuesday.

“We always want to encourage families to get those recommended vaccines far ahead of when school starts. Of course, now with it being August we do have those families who are rushing to get those back-to-school vaccines.”

Demuth says parents can find a list of the recommended and required vaccines at the health department’s website, under the vaccines section, at www.tchdnow.org.

Demuth says the health department will accept most insurances for vaccines.  There is a flat fee of $21 per vaccine for those who are uninsured.
