Doris McQueen, 92, of Baltic, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek following a period of declining health.

She was born in Coshocton County on March 17, 1930, to the late Samuel and Edith (Domer) Fair and married Edgar Loren “Jack” McQueen on April 15, 1951.  He died on January 7, 2018.

She and Jack owned and operated McQueen’s Inc. in Baltic until they retired in 2007.

She was a lifetime member of the Baltic Church of the Brethren until they closed and is now a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Baltic. She was a charter member of the Baltic American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting with the ladies at the church, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the family getting together to make Christmas cookies and applesauce.

She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda (Mark) Johnson and Susie (Tim) Immel both of Sugarcreek; 8 grandchildren, Matthew (Vanessa) Immel, Angie (Kyle) Miller, Josh (Lindsay) McQueen, Travis (Kelly) McQueen, Jeremiah Johnson, Ryan (Megan) Immel, Justin (Heather) Johnson, Megan (Mandie) McQueen; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son Terry McQueen and foster sister Mary Stantz.

Services will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM (Noon) at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Rev. Jim Henninger officiating. A lunch will follow in the Hospitality Room of the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Coshocton Memory Gardens at 2:30 PM.  Friends may call on Friday from 10-12 at the funeral home prior to her services.  The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Crossroads Hospice and they are requesting memorials be made in her name to Crossroads Hospice at 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive.
