Dorothy M. “Dot” Stingel, 98, a beloved member of the Dover community, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, at the Park Village Health Care Center in Dover Ohio.

Born on February 7, 1926, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Elsworth) Fulk. 

Dot dedicated 21 years of her career to Alsco Anaconda in Sugarcreek, where her exemplary work ethic and dedication left a lasting impact on her colleagues. She later was the oldest employee at Union Hospital where she worked for 20 years before her retirement. 

Outside of her professional life, Dot was known for her unwavering support of the Cleveland Indians, passionately following the team and celebrating their victories. She was their #1 fan. Her enthusiasm for the game was infectious, drawing friends and family into her world of baseball fandom.

A devoted member of the former Foursquare Gospel Church in Dover, Dot found community and fulfillment in her faith. 

She leaves behind her son; Jim (Cathy) Stingel of Dover; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Stingel of Alabama; her “adopted” son, Melvin “Skip” (Julie) White of Canton; eight grandchildren, Chris Stingel of Dover, Jessica (Brian) Warfield of Dennison, Joshua Stingel of Tennessee, Kaci (Jehiel) Lewis of Texas, Joshua (Haleigh) Walker of Texas, Jonathan Grandison of Dover, JD (Wendy) Stingel of Alabama, Renee (Hunter) Moore of Alabama; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, John, and Jeff Stingel;  sisters, Jane Bussinger, and Opal Rhodes; infant brother John Fulk; foster sister, Betty Youngen; and her beloved dog, Sassy. 

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Anslow officiating.
