Nick McWilliams reporting – The city of Dover approved various expenditures during Monday night’s council meeting.
Among those was an increase for the Dover Fire Department for vehicles.
Auditor Nicole Stoldt said that the department has seen a series of issues leading to the supplemental appropriation.
“We’ve had several truck issues. We’ve had a fender bender, and we had some equipment issues. Now we have issues with an engine. So we’re putting in more money to get that fixed.”
Stoldt also updated the city on trash pickup rates, which will increase for the city and residents due to the cost of living increase. The city’s trash pickup is contracted through Kimble Recycling and Disposal.
The city also approved a supplemental for ambulance services due to needed repairs on vehicles.
