Nick McWilliams reporting – Through the Government Finance Officers Association, Dover and Auditor Nicole Stoldt’s office received high marks for their financial reporting in 2020.
Stoldt and the city were recently informed they received a certificate noting excellence in financial reporting, which recognizes full disclosure and transparency in end-of-the-year financial detailing.
Stoldt says that the entire staff is deserving of the award, and that the news can be a positive note for Dover amid some rocky times.
“Any good that we can have right now, that can shine on the city, is worth it. We have fantastic employees and this would not have been possible without the employees in my office and just in the city in general. To show what happened last year, and all the good things and the projects that went on that are able to be displayed in the Comprehensive
Annual Financial Report should be a feather in all the employee’s caps.”
She adds that clarity and concise reporting gives better insight into city spending and financial standing for the general public, who can view a summary report on the auditor’s website.
The auditor’s office will receive a certificate and plaque for display.
