The city of Dover is in line to receive 3.5 million dollars in grants for future projects, and officials are hoping for a few million more.

The approved grants mainly cover infrastructure work around the incoming Schaeffler manufacturing plant on the north side and park improvements.

Mayor Shane Gunnoe says he is also anticipating a 600-thousand dollar federal grant after a U.S. House vote this week.

The grant would help fund a 3.3-million-dollar sewer upgrade on the city’s north side.

Gunnoe is optimistic other state, and federal sources will give the city another 2.4 million dollars toward the project, leaving the city responsible for about 10 percent of the total cost.
