Mary Alice Reporting –

A challenger is seeking a spot on Dover City Council in the Ward 1 seat.

The position is currently held by Greg Bair, with Josh Legg looking to garner voter support.

Bair, a long-time Dover resident, is hoping to be re-elected to continue with his proven track record of accomplishing issues until a resolution is resolved.

“What I’d like to continue doing is bring back accountability to city government and to the citizens of Dover because we’ve had some black issues in the last couple of years, and I’m definitely going to try to restore that, which I feel we have.”

Bair also notes his experiencing being on multiple city committees.

Meanwhile, Legg says he has a multi-generational Dover family legacy and feels like this is a way to contribute and give back to his hometown.

“Dover’s already a great town. It’s a great place to live and work, but I feel like I have the opportunity to bring a fresh perspective that maybe hasn’t been there for a while. If elected as councilman of Ward 1 City of Dover, that’s my only goal is to make Dover a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Legg adds he wants to be accessible to Dover citizens.

Election Day is on Tuesday, November 7th and polling locations open at 6:30am.
